Judy Lonn, CID
I have been an interior decorator for over 30 years and believe my past and present experiences have attributed to my being a knowledgeable designer and a successful person. My continued education through the years has enabled me to obtain the knowledge not only to make impressive differences in a client’s home design, but also to understand how that design and environment can affect one’s well being.
After completing and receiving my certification from interior design school I began working in a retail window covering business which allowed me to open and manage a second showroom. There started my expertise in custom window coverings and through the years I have continued to be knowledgeable in all window covering products and their applications. From there I had the opportunity to expand a retail flooring company to include a complete line of decorating products including but not limited to window coverings and wall coverings. That led me to another opportunity to work with a large design firm and expand my experience to include working with other designers designing model homes, assisting new homebuyers with builder upgrades, and working with individual clients in their complete home design.
Eventually having started my own business, my success has been acquired by my priority of that of the client’s needs be of paramount importance. Since a client’s personality is reflected in his/her home, it is important to me to keep that in mind, to create the look that the client wishes, and have a harmonious and comfortable atmosphere.
Miscellaneous Design Work and Volunteer Work
My past experience has included the opportunity of doing the Visual Displays of a retail bath and bedding store, a home accessory store, a jewelry and gift shop all located in attractive parts of small towns that catered to the locals and tourist.
I have also been privileged to set up a Convention Display booth showcasing “Feng Shui”. I was able to create an interest in Feng Shui by the placement of objects that enhanced the energy flow of the surroundings that was evident by all those in attendance.
I can include Hospitality as another accomplishment in my career as I worked a PGA golf tournament as setting up and being in charge of one of the sponsor’s tent. I oversaw that the guests were being accommodated and that their expectations were met.
My experience Volunteering with Furnishing Hope (a non-profit organization that furnishes homes for wounded warriors) with homes being built by Habitat for Humanity, was an honor for me to have served where I could make a difference. My time volunteering for Furnishing Hope was such a delight working with other designers who also took pride in using their talents for such a worthwhile cause. We all joined together in creating an extremely successful fundraising event of which I was in charge of the decorations for the facility of the event.

Judy Lonn was one of the most dedicated volunteers during our Country Western Barbecue Fundraiser. Not only did she work for months helping to plan the fundraiser, she was responsible for the table top design and everything on the table for over 180 guests. The set up and the break down were an ease because of Judy’s organizational skills. Judy was professional and a joy to work with. -Beth Phillips, Founder / Executive director, Furnishing Hope
